OUR THOUGHTS
Rust Creek is predictably a fairly dark affair with no trace of any comic relief. The action sets in fairly quickly with the main character, Sawyer, encountering her pursuers during the opening scenes of the film.
Rust Creek is a solid addition to the already congested 'chase thriller' genre. The plot, whilst not groundbreaking in any sense, offers enough twists and turns to just about keep your interest throughout - although the middle act did push the limits of our attention span. The acting is fair and the direction caused sufficient tension during an experience in which we admittedly felt we knew where it was heading.
SUMMARY
Rust Creek is very much a 'know what you are getting' type of film. If you are familiar with the genre, this instalment will perhaps offer slightly less brutality and harshness - but you will likely enjoy more of a story than you are used to.
